This evening I went to the opening of the 2009 Ferdynand Zweig Exhibition Private View.  It was at a new little gallery on the main street in Penryn.  ’Open Space Galleries’.  A good space.

Sam Hofman graduated from Falmouth with a BA in Photography last year.  He is now living and working in London.  In this show he exhibited six prints from his series Aliens Order.  The project is based on a personal exploration of his Polish heritage.  I find the images present a contemplative view.  Some really strong portraits held together with gentle gestures of depopulated space.  Like when you have to be alone to take in your surroundings.
