This photo was taken by Seamus Murphy.  For me it rises up from the sea of ‘war’ images from Afghanistan and shows a bit of what I prefer to see.  Rather than these almost toy soldier figures that are simply one of many Afghan men with a gun.  The closeness of the photo creates and intimacy, a humanity, the reality of living soulful being.
